Portland Snow Storm!

I am sure many of you heard, read or experienced the Portland, OR snow storm Tuesday night January 10th – Wednesday morning January 11th. If you have not heard, Portland received 15″ of snowfall within less than 12 hours. I was one who happened to be dead in the middle of that experience while being a part of the Portland Northwest Food Processors Expo Show. Fortunately everyone that we spoke to while there, was either planning on staying another night or had the proper vehicle to get out and return back.

We do hope everyone stays safe down South and stays warm. Be careful driving and watch out for black ice.

2017 Northwest Food Processors Expo was a success! Until next year, Portland!

A positive about the day – was able to take some beautiful photos.

& to all a good night…

It’s looking like the Holidays has since came and past and the New Year is already upon us. 2017 is full of wonder and things that have never been. It’s a 365 page story that hasn’t been written yet. What will yours include?

Nether is extremely blessed to see the schedule filled all the way until mid 2017. We are very fortunate to have the customer and vendors that we do to keep this business up and running successfully. A special shout out to all you for being there for us when we need you. We wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for you.

As we are heading into January this coming year, it’s looking like the North West Food Processors trade show will be a great jump to get it started! January 9th-11th, we hope so see some familiar faces as well as meeting a few new people along the way!

Have a safe and joyous New Year everyone and may it be all you make it to be!

The start of Fall

The weather is changing, the rain is coming in, the sun is going in hiding for the next few months and we get to watch as the leaves change colors and fall to the ground.

School has started and now we see anxious children riding the buses and getting dropped off by nervous yet excited parents. Although we that work – get stuck behind those big yellow things and sometimes they make us late.. that part isn’t very thrilling.

However, knowing another school year has started feels like it’s the beginning of something wonderful!

Nether has been crazy busy with everything that is going on. We have jobs lined up into the beginning of 2017 and feel extremely blessed to have the opportunity of having that security.

Enjoy Fall and kids don’t forget – sit in front of the class and raise your hand often!

Here’s to another safe and enthusiastic school year!

20th Anniversary!

Nether’s 20th Anniversary!

Our 20th anniversary party was such a wonderful time and getting (almost) everyone together was a blast! We had delicious dinners, fun activities, beautiful views, amazing group river floating and relaxing evenings.

Sun River Resort went above and beyond our expectations to provide us with a unforgettable experience; and they succeeded. We feel so blessed to have the group of people that we have and to enjoy this mile-stone together.

Big shout out to our customers who have trusted and believed in us from the beginning, we wouldn’t be standing this tall without you all, no words can truly explain how thankful we are.

Another shout out to our vendors who go full steam ahead for us to get us what we need. Your workmanship is appreciated beyond words.

It has been a successful 20 years and we look forward to the road ahead for our next 20 years!

20 years and going strong…

I don’t even know where to begin – just thinking and knowing that this family-owned and operated company has been around for 20 years is just bonkers! Nether Industries was established in September of 1996, and we feel so honored to be a part of this family.

Every year we have a company gathering for an exciting evening on the town, however; this year for our 20 year party – we are going all out!

3 days and 3 nights at a resort in Oregon for the relaxation (and crazy partying) of all the employees and their families.

Let’s be honest here, who doesn’t like hot tubs and margaritas?

That being said: Nether will be closed Thursday August 18th – Sunday August 21st. Emails and phone calls will be returned upon our return on Monday the 22nd.

Thank you!

2016 American Cheese Society

Joke time! (Everyone loves cheese jokes!)

Q: What happened after an explosion at a French cheese factory?

A: All that was left was de brie.

Well, it’s that time of year again – The 33rd Annual ACS Conference and Competition!

Nether has been a sponsor for years and will continue doing so in support of the American Cheese Society. The membership is available to anyone who is involved in the trade or even someone who has a passionate love for cheeses (personally I am secretly a massive cheese lover, being in the industry helps too!).

This time the Conference and Competition will be held at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, IA.

Dates are as followed:

Thursday July 28th

Friday July 29th

& Saturday July 30th.

We look forward to seeing you in Des Moines for Cheese in the Heartland!

Independence Day

We here at Nether Industries hope that everyone had a safe and wonderful Independence Day just last week. It was firework galore here in the little town of Enumclaw, with fortunately no casualties that were reported severe.

However, please keep in mind the danger of Fireworks – a sparkler burns a 1200 degrees F !

Think about it like this:

Water boils at 200 degrees.

Cakes bake at 350 degrees.

Wood burns at 575 degrees.

& glass melts at 900 degrees.

Hope everyone stayed safe & enjoyed the time with family and friends!

Our Oregon Representative – Byron Johnson put on one heck of a firework show in Battleground this year. His homemade firework launcher caught the eye of quite a large crowd. Best show in Western Washington! Can’t wait until next year!

Elements of surprise.

Elements: a. atmospheric agencies or forces; weather:

Enumclaw has been getting a lot of surprises here with the weather. Wind, rain, sunshine – the whole 9 yards. Loading up flat bed trucks these past couple weeks to head out to job sites has been a task to say the least. Rain one minute wearing a parka and the next you can be in a t-shirt sweating buckets. Have to love Washington weather!

However, there is no complaint over here, we are extremely blessed to see the trucks loaded and driving out of here on almost a daily basis for the jobs ahead of us. All over the U.S and won’t slow down!

On another note: Waukesha has new products coming soon, so make sure to keep an eye out for some new items!

Have a beautiful day and don’t forget – watch out for the element of surprise!

Memorial Day 2016

The month has almost already came and gone. Where did the time go? Thinking that is almost half way thru 2016 is insane.

Memorial Day is not upon us and we as Americans need to remember why we have the 30th off – it is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the country’s armed forces.

It’s not about the BBQ’s, it’s not about enjoying a day off at the lake – it’s about the people who devoted their lives to our country and stood up for what they believed in. We would not be where we are today without them.

To everyone who has since lost their lives while serving for our beautiful country – I want to say thank you. Nether, wants to say thank you.
